The Skyroam global hotspot is a small cellular device that provides internet connectivity in more than 120 countries across the world. Designed with the occasional traveler in mind, the Skyroam hotspot does not have any monthly subscription fees and the data is unlimited during your session. Fast internet, on demand, at an affordable price–it sounds too good to be true! There are a lot of travel bloggers out there that will write Skyroam hotspot reviews claiming the device “changed their lives.” This Skyroam hotspot review will test if the global hotspot really can stand up to its claims.
In the summer of 2017 we decided to do something we thought we would never do–take a cruise. We found ourselves in a situation where we wanted to travel to somewhere fun, but had absolutely zero time to plan a trip. On a whim, we started looking into cruises to see if there were any smaller ships out there that might cater towards our love of good food, need for adventure, and desire to experience unique destinations. After an exhaustive search we found, and booked, a Windstar cruise. So naturally, we also needed to write a Windstar cruise review.
Windstar Cruise Review – The Star LegendTo kick off this Windstar cruise review,
Looking for travel gift ideas for a traveler on your list this holiday season? We pulled together our top 20 travel gift ideas based travel accessories, gadgets, clothing, and equipment that we travel with on a regular basis. Many lists of the best travel gifts for 2017 are full of gimmicky gifts that will never get used, over priced items that are less than practice, or every day items that you may just end up bringing with you on a trip. This list of travel gift ideas is focused on items that will actually get used over and over again. Many of the items on this list wind up in my suit case every time I point my feet toward the airport.
The Thule Covert DSLR camera backpack is a unique rolltop backpack that is great for traveling photographers. It has ample room for a DSLR camera and a few extra lenses, it has a dedicated compartment for your laptop or tablet, and it has lots of extra pockets for your accessories or other belongings. Most importantly, the backpack itself, as its name would suggest, does not look like your average camera backpack. This is especially useful if you are traveling to areas where carrying an expensive camera could make you a target. If you find this Thule Covert backpack review helpful please consider purchasing yours on Amazon through this link.
Rome wasn’t built in a day, but if all you have is 24 hours in Rome, you can see a good piece of it. Most travelers would argue that you need 3 to 5 days to fully explore Rome, but with some careful planning and a little espresso you’ll leave satisfied with your visit and excited to come back. The key to having only 24 hours in Rome, Italy is to balance antiquities with culture and avoid waiting in lines. We recently spent a day in Rome ahead of a cruise along the coast of Italy. After some careful planning, we both agreed we saw an excellent cross section of the city.
Swimming with whale sharks has been on my list of travel goals for quite some time. When we made plans to head down to Excellence Playa Mujeres in Cancun, Mexico for a week we spotted an opportunity to cross that travel goal off of our list. But we didn’t want to just go swim with whale sharks while in Cancun, we wanted to make sure we did it right. Similar to how we went scuba diving on the great barrier reef, we knew that just booking the standard “experience” wouldn’t satisfy our itch. We wanted to do it right.
Exchanging foreign currency abroad can often be an intimidating topic for first-time global travelers. Rates can be confusing, there are often extra fees, and it is hard to be confident that you got a good deal. Every traveler has his or her preferences when it comes to exchanging currency abroad, here are a few tips (and stories) based on some of my personal experiences.
1 – What is the difference between a bank rate and a spot rate?First, a little foreign exchange (or FX for short) 101. The first thing that will often trip up travelers is the actual rate that they are exchanging their currency.
Tokyo’s Park Hyatt hotel is one of the most famous hotels in the world. It reached iconic status by being featured in the movie Lost in Translation, but was known to world travelers as one of the nicest hotels in Tokyo long before. Although the Park Hyatt Tokyo is one of the most excellent hotels in the world’s largest city, is it worth it to stay there? In this Park Hyatt Tokyo review I’ll take a look at the location, service, and our room at the Tokyo Park Hyatt, as well as how we received a discount on our stay.
There is no question that having elite airline status has value–first class upgrades, free checked bags, priority boarding, the list goes on. For business travelers earning status through airline loyalty is a right of passage. It’s also simple to achieve airline status while traveling on someone else’s dime. But here’s the question:
Is achieving airline elite status worth it for personal travel?Taking a look back at my travels from 2015 I flew over 50,000 miles! That’s enough to earn mid-tier elite status on almost any airline. But as someone who travels mostly for leisure I typically pick the flights that best fit my budget,
Before visiting Excellence Playa Mujeres I had a very strict rule–no all inclusive resorts. I’ve heard the horror stories of stale buffets, sub-par service, and the all inclusive cast system (“you need a wrist band for this pool”). Let me start by saying Excellence Playa Mujeres (EPM) is not one of those all inclusive resorts. The quality and level of service we experienced at EPM rivaled that of any five star resort. Moreover, because the resort is couples only (as opposed to adults only), everyone is there for the same reason. This made it easy to mingle with the other guests.
